Hannah Solomon-Strauss

Hannah Solomon-Strauss grew up in Chicago, cheering for the Los Angeles Dodgers (a family tradition) and looking up Mike Piazza’s stats in the box scores every morning. Hannah pitched on her high school’s boys’ baseball team; along with the one other girl on the team, Hannah was half of the first all-female battery in Illinois state history. The summer she graduated high school, Hannah threw a no-hitter and a two-hit shutout in back-to-back starts.

After her junior year of high school, Hannah learned about the Chicago Women’s Baseball League and their tournament team, the Chicago Gems. Hannah played with Chicago for several years; after college, Hannah moved to Washington and joined the Eastern Women’s Baseball Conference. Over the years, Hannah has become something of a utility player, accumulating time at every position on the diamond (although she still self-identifies as a pitcher!).

Hannah joined DCGB in 2021, and works primarily with the 12U and 10U teams. Hannah is thrilled to be a part of the DCGB family, and looks forward to more seasons of fun and learning experiences, on and off the diamond.
