Katlyn Drescher
Katlyn Drescher grew up in the softball world and has played ever since she could pick up a bat and (somehow) hit the ball backwards in tee ball. Being from Baltimore, she grew up watching the Orioles and hearing the legendary stories of Cal Ripken Jr. and Boog Powell from her mother, a baseball lover and fellow 1st Baseman. Pursuing a DII career in softball until the COVID-19 pandemic, she’s lived on 1st base and has held her spot on clean-up committee as a power hitter. Since being introduced to the world of Women’s Baseball, she’s played for the Eastern Women’s Baseball Conference and now head coaches the newest EWBC team, The Charm City Lemon Sticks.
Katlyn sees and has experienced the importance of sports to their players and wants to spread her love of the game by empowering young girls to defy the odds and play with all their hearts.
Now an AmeriCorps member serving with Up2Us Sports, she’s mastering the Sports-Based Youth Development Model which has been proven to increase a young person’s social and emotional skills. She hopes to instill a sense of positive identity, teamwork, and the ability to foster positive relationships in her young players.
Katlyn hopes to be an example to the girls of a young and powerful female coach who stops at nothing to teach and play the game she’s loved for so long.

What Parents Have to Say!
Within a couple months, Coach Katlyn helped my daughter go from someone who was afraid of catching baseballs to a confident girl regularly catching baseballs. I can't give enough thanks to Coach Katlyn and what she has done for my daughter, developing her confidence and bringing that love for the game back into her life.
